Exploring Textures

I wanted to further explore the creation of texture in relation to the fluidity of water and movement, how could I get that molten flow look?

I have explored different options here, working with wax, reticulation and creating texture with texture plates and hammering.

Great opportunity to explore and see what happens here.

First one I have experimented with hot wax here to see how I could get it to flow but also to capture an irregular movement, in that moment in time, so feeling like it has been frozen in mid flow.

The molten wax has created some interesting textures on the surface of there bangle but also on the inside of the bangle

Texture created on the inside of the bangle when the wax cooled

Building the wax up to create the textural flow

The wax bangles were then cast in silver and I was really pleased with the results, the texture has been captured well and I have also kept the texture on the inside as I feel it has that element of intrigue that only the wearer will know about.

Textured Silver bangles

Great textural finish once these bangles have been polished to accentuate the texture that has been created with the molten wax
